{J Family} Maternity Session

For me writing down a little summary of the session and why it was special is always the most difficult part for me. I used to think I was good with words, since I wrote a lot of poetry and even a couple of short stories (that mercifully only the teachers in school ever saw), but since I discovered photography, I have come to realise that I much rather use images to express what I want to say. A picture is worth a thousand words, they say. I tend to agree, especially when it comes to photography. And so I like to let the pictures tell their own story of love, relationship, excitement, expectation and commitment.

This was a lovely session with one of the most special couples in our church. They are so nice, so beautiful inside and out and when they asked me to take some maternity pictures for them as they are expecting their first child, I was beyond honoured. I hope I managed to do justice to them as we spent the afternoon among the fields and bushes of the farm. We were so fortunate that one of the maize fields hadn't been harvested yet, so we could take some photos there as well.
